FDLE BACKGROUND CHECKS

(Florida Department of Law Enforcement)

New Paragraph

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is solely responsible for handling all background check requests for the State of Florida.

If you are moving to the state of Florida and plan to work in fields such as Healthcare or even if you need to obtain licensing to work in a field such as insurance as an agent, you will most likely be required to obtain a state and/or national criminal history background check through the agency you will work with. When you are required to obtain a state and national criminal history check, this is referred to as a Level 2 FDLE Background Check.

You can request a state only background check under Florida's public records law. However, government agencies and companies can request these checks as well. When you are requested through a specific agency to obtain a FDLE Background Check, you will be provided with an ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) Number. This number provides the reason for the request and notifies the Florida Department of law Enforcement where to forward your results once the check is complete.

PRESS and PRINT is currently in the process of obtaining approval to perform FDLE Background checks.
